Its a Mad Mad Mad World ! Classic Comedy
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is a 1963 American comedy of all times. It is considered an epic film of all time. The film was produced and directed by  Stanley Kramer. The great star of all time Spencer Tracy did wonderful performance with other stars. The rest of the cast was  Edie Adams, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Buddy Hackett, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Phil Silvers, Terry-Thomas, and Jonathan Winters.
This film did glorious business and it is stil watched as the great comedy classics of all times in this age. It won the Academy Award for best sound. The film was released in November 7, 1963. Its 197 minute five disc version was also released in January 2014 which gave new age youngsters a good breath of fresh old air.
Plot And Storyline
Grogan was wanted by the police. When his Ford crashed into the mountains, five motorists helped him. They were Melville Crump (Sid Caesar), a dentist; Lennie Pike (Jonathan Winters), a furniture mover; Dingy Bell (Mickey Rooney) and Benjy Benjamin (Buddy Hackett), two friends on their way to Las Vegas; and J. Russell Finch (Milton Berle), an entrepreneur . Unfortunately Grogan died but he told them about $350,000 buried in Santa Rosita State Park in Mexico. They made a plan to find and share the money.
The money chase began and they had multiple setbacks on their way to the money. All the characters arrive at Santa Rosita State Park at the same time. Emmeline found the W first who was not interested in money at all. Then Pike finds it and he tells everybody.Everyone was digging for money and hoping to find it first.  Culpeper became crook and told everyone to surrender to police and ran with the money himself. They chased  Culpeper and after a long mad chase filled with madness and crazy comedy, all men ended up in an old office building and opened the money. The suitcase was opened carelessly and the money fell into the streets.
Then the greedy men had many injuries on ladder while chasing the money. Culpeper was criticized by the group for his mad carelessness and causing damage to themselves and the money. His wife divorced him and his mother in law planned a law suite against him. His daughter also disowned her father and got her name changed. He also lost his pension.
In the ending moments of movie, Â Mrs. Marcus entered the room and scolded everyone. She slipped over a peel of banana when everyone began to laugh madly. They all ended up empty handed but the good thing is that Culpeper joined them finally in the laugh after thinking that he would never laugh again.
The Success and Legacy
The film was made on one projector but was converted to widescreen edition later on. The film did good business in 1963 in cinemas. It became the  3rd highest grossing film of 1963. It earned  $46,332,858 only domestically. The film was a huge international success as well. It got Oscar nominations for  color cinematography, film editing, sound recording, music score and Best Actor. The film did set a trend for the new comedy films. A lot of new comedies made were filmed in the same fashion for money search. A few of them are Million Dollar Mystery, Rat Race, Three Kings and The Scavenger Hunt.
