Biogel Refrigerator, A New Generation Home Appliance
Every year particular theme event held by Electrolux Design Lab to create home appliances and every different theme is selected. Student and inventor from different part of the world are invited to show their creativity and invention. A time when Electrolux held title Second Space age in 2010 in which participant were subjected to show new design to present household appliances which would be used for 2050, whose main purpose not only to save space and must have be energy efficient. All products have to stick with “Scandinavian Design values,” which Electrolux says includes environmental sensitivity, intuitive use, and pleasing to the eyes. Russian student Yuriy Dmitriev came out with the concept of bio robotics. He present the idea of a refrigerator in which a special luminescence is utilized to cool all the individual food.
Design and Usability:
Initial view of the device is not pretty much very traditional, like it’s not look normal fridge with a door and separate partition for separated things. It is consisted at one single piece of green gel which is placed in a frame and is four times smaller than the size of a regular fridge which provides coolness to all individual items according to their optimal temperature. While the substance which is use for coolness Biopolymer gel, has ability to remain odourless and not sticky. Precisely the overall design of this refrigerator looks very surrealistic and unmatched with all the traditional cooling appliances. Just having one large piece of gel, no drawers or doors. Another advantages of the Biogel Refrigerator is you can hung your food and thing either vertically, horizontally, or even at the ceiling which look very much comfortable. Using Biogel refrigerator in next forty years can have many advantages and flexibility. The gel biopolymer is non-sticky and the food items are inserted into it which creates separate pods in the process of encapsulating the food items. It is one single piece of green gel that is contained in a frame and is four times smaller than the size of a regular fridge. The Bio Fridge is four times smaller than a normal-sized fridge
Testimonial:
Design Director Lars Erikson says during Electrolux:
“The fridge encapsulates the objects and the gives it the right temperature to keep each object cold. Erikson says that we’ll probably need to have products that are more decorative since we won’t have the space to hide them away in the future. Though this is still a concept, it will be interesting to see how the Bio Fridge shapes up in the future. At least you’ll be able to see everything in your fridge in plain view so you won’t wonder what that nasty smell is for days and finally go searching through your fridge and find that old block of cheese rotting in the back. The concept of using a box to cool food is one that’s been in existence since the mid 1700s and one that’s not going to change any time soon. One thing that may change by the year 2050, however, is the way that food is cooled”
Features:
• process of work does not require expenditure of energy for cooling products
• design features ,it it 4 time smaller than the conventional refrigerator
• without shelves and doors you place it both vertically and horizontally
• biopolymer gel by touch as polyethylene is not sticky and has no smell
• the high density storage the volume is use as efficiency as possible
• products is a pain view and easily accessible
• complete silence operation , no moving parts
• refrigerator can change the shape according to dependency
